Issue 60 – OUT NOW !

0

Over the years we’ve realised that MOOR History is one of the most popular regular features in our magazine. Our thanks still go to the very capable Susanna Yeomans who wrote the history pages during the early days, before moving on to focus on her career. We consider ourselves very lucky that local writer and history buff Phil Page was willing and able to take up the mantle and since then he’s written more than 40 history features for MOOR. We are completely thrilled therefore, (and it is with unashamed plugging), that we launch our first history book: ‘A Heatons History’. It’s a joint venture between Phil Page and MOOR Magazine and is a mix of previously published history features along with a whole host of new features specially written for the book. It’s definitely one for all you lovers of local history out there. Turn to page 36 to find out how you can get your hands on a copy, along with details of where Phil will be doing book signings locally.

This issue of MOOR is packed with festive fashion, gift ideas, and some rather tempting seasonal drink recommendations. We’ve got an interview with the very lovely actors Jennifer James and Lee Boardman. And more of the books you have been writing – you’re a creative lot!

And as this is our 60th issue, (the very first MOOR was distributed in February/March 2010), we want to say a big thank to everyone who has supported us since then: our advertisers, our contributors, and especially you – our readers. To celebrate, leading up to Christmas we’ll be giving away a bottle of bubbly every week on our Facebook page as a big thank you. www.facebook.com/MoorMagazine

Happy Christmas everyone and very best wishes for 2020.
