Take a magical carpet ride … it’s panto time

It’s time to start thinking about your trip to see this year’s sensational family pantomime, Aladdin. It’ll be on from Friday 1st December 2017, to Sunday 7th January 2018, at Stockport’s iconic Art Deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre.

The hilarious Ted Robbins, known to millions of fans young and old for his much-loved roles in ‘Phoenix Nights’ and ‘Coronation Street’, along with his award-winning role as The Governor in the top CBBC Show ‘The Slammer’, makes a welcome return to The Plaza as Widow Twanky. He is guaranteed to bring the house down when he stars as the colourful Dame, who explodes onto the stage to keep an eye on his/her errant child Aladdin.  Benjamin Connor,  newcomer to the Plaza pantomimes, takes the role of Aladdin, whilst Wishee Washee is played by the ever popular Bradley Thompson. Bradley is returning to The Plaza for his third year, bringing with him all the energy and loveable charm he is famous for. Adding a sparkling oriental majesty to proceedings is the popular Becky Bennett, who again is returning due to popular demand, this time as Princess Balroubadour in a role she is guaranteed to make her own with her elegance, grace and stunning singing voice.

Finally, appearing alongside Ted Robbins is that other popular star of stage and screen, Brian Capron. Brian, who alongside starring roles in West End productions such as ‘Guys And Dolls’ and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ is well known for his many television roles, in particular his award-winning performance as the murderous Richard Hillman in Coronation Street. Brian ensures The Plaza has the perfectly evil Abanazar. Oh yes he does!

Aladdin runs from Friday 1st December 2017 to Sunday 7th January 2018.  Children’s tickets are only £12 and affordable standard rate, family, concessionary and group booking rates are available.
