Kids 1st steps teacher led nursery has been open for the last four months; situated on the Burnage Heatons boarder. Kids 1st Steps nursery is a purpose built building boasting all weather outdoor space.
To help celebrate the nursery’s success and its flagship status as one of the only teacher led nurseries within the area, local families and members of the community gathered for its official launch. Leading the proceedings was local actress Sally Lindsey alongside the Lord Mayor of Manchester Carl Austin.
Sally Lindsey said: “This project is very close to my heart, as a local mum of twins I found it very hard to find childcare that stimulated my children and had a real emphasis on education, and this is something that Kids 1st Steps offers.”
Lord Mayor of Manchester Carl Austin echoed Sally’s sentiments: “This nursery is of great importance to me and the local community, as I understand how important it is for parents to have a local nursery that you can feel confident in to send our children to, knowing that they will be taught and nurtured.”
Kids 1st Steps is the brainchild of Michele Williams and Emma Fox who both worked in secondary education for over 12 years each. Mrs Fox said: “Having five children between us we understand how important it is to make sure that children fulfil their full potential in the early years stage. All parents want their children to be happy confident learners, and that is our goal at Kids 1st Steps.”
Mrs Williams added: “We are genuinely privileged to be playing our part in shaping the hearts and minds of the next generation- never was there a more important job to do!”
Kids 1st Steps is at Unit 8-9 South Point, 12 Lane End Road, Burnage, Manchester, M19 1TV. (Next to Burnage Tesco)
