Get on your bike this summer

Sustainable Living in The Heatons’ summer bike rides are open to all and the team particularly welcome those who want to get back on their bikes after a break or who are new to cycling, as well as families with children. Rides are always led by experienced cycle leaders, who will make sure that no-one is left behind.

Please come and join us, numbers are limited, so you need to book your place by emailing:  cycling@slheatons.org  saying how many adults and children will be coming and on which rides you’d like to join us. Participants should bring a roadworthy bike.  Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday August 18th:  Wythenshawe Park via Didsbury and Northenden.

Meet at 10:15, Heaton Moor Library Car Park. Distance: 12 miles. Finish around 4pm

Sunday September 10th: Moravian Settlement & Portland Basin Museum – Via Ashton Canal towpath and Portland Basin museum.

Meet at 10:15, Orchard in Heaton Chapel (access from Meadows Rd or Nelstrop Rd) Distance: 15 miles. Finish around 4pm

Sunday October 1st:  The Whitworth & the Manchester Museum – Via the Trans Pennine Trail to Didsbury, to join the cycleway through Withington, Fallowfield and Rusholme.

Meet at 10:15, the Moor Top pub car park. Distance: 12 miles. Finish time: around 4pm

And don’t forget, morning bike rides into Manchester from Heaton Chapel train station at 8:05 am on the Last Friday of each month. (organised by FoE)
