Shane Flannery, current chairman of 4HTA, and the two previous chairs (Sharon Byrne from MOOR and Raj Arora from printing.com), were invited along to the 5th Stockport Business Awards ceremony in October to represent the 4HTA. They were surprised to receive the invitation but delighted – even though they had wondered if they’d been asked just to make up the numbers! You can’t imagine how surprised they were to hear the compere Chelsea Norris talk about “supporting businesses in The Heatons” and “volunteer-led organisation”. Collective ears pricked up when they heard “…better place to live, work and prosper” – “That’s our line” they thought! Then the penny eventually dropped. The three representatives were thrilled to accept a ‘Special Recognition’ award on behalf of all the 4HTA members, in recognition of its work in supporting local businesses. The 4HTA was set up seven years ago and its mission is to support Heatons businesses in whatever way it can – to make the best of business conditions.
